MADE FOR REAL FEET

For feet that standard shoes don't quite fit

Not every foot fits neatly into a standard size chart. And sometimes, even a standard barefoot shoe isn't quite enough.

We make LUKS for people who want natural foot-shaped footwear and plenty of room for their toes, but need something more than simply choosing a size from a dropdown menu.

A wider toe box. More room over the instep. A narrower heel. Different sizes for the left and right foot. Or simply a shoe that works with the foot they actually have.

We believe shoes should fit your feet, not force your feet to fit the shoes.

And that's one of the reasons making them ourselves still matters.

THE LUKS FAMILY

THE PEOPLE BEHIND LUKS

A small family workshop

LUKS Barefoot was founded in 2016, but shoemaking in our family goes back much further.

Václav senior has been making shoes since 1992.

Today, LUKS is run by our family: Lenka, Václav, Monika and Václav senior.

We each have our own role. Some of us make the shoes, some work on development and keep the workshop running, and some look after our customers.

What you won't find behind a pair of LUKS is an anonymous factory.

You'll find real people who know how your shoes were made.

Four people. Different roles. One pair of shoes at a time.

OUR WORKSHOP

Made here. By us.

Our shoes aren't made on a distant production line.

We make them in our own small workshop in the Czech Republic, from working with the individual pieces of leather and sewing them together to assembling and finishing the final pair.

And making our own shoes isn't important to us simply because it's traditional.

It gives us the freedom to work with real feet.

Need more width? A narrower heel? More room over the instep? Different sizes for your left and right feet?

With many of our styles, we can take those things into account while we're making your shoes.

Handmade, to us, means being able to make shoes for real feet rather than asking every foot to fit the same standard measurements.

MORE THAN JUST BAREFOOT

Because “barefoot” doesn't automatically mean “fits your feet”

A thin, flexible sole is only part of the story.

Shape matters just as much.

Toes need room, and feet differ in far more than length. Width, toe shape, instep volume and heel width can all make the difference between a shoe that technically fits and one that genuinely feels right.

That's why we offer different widths and, on selected styles, further individual adjustments.

Room for your toes

An anatomical toe shape designed around the natural outline of the foot.

Genuinely wide options

For feet that still struggle to find enough room in many standard barefoot shoes.

Made more personal

Depending on the style, we can accommodate things such as different left and right sizes, a narrower heel, a higher instep and other individual requirements.

We don't want you to have to adapt to your shoes. Whenever the construction allows it, we'd rather adapt the shoes to you.

FULL-GRAIN LEATHER

MATERIALS THAT AGE BEAUTIFULLY

Good shoes start with good materials

We use high-quality full-grain leather because we want our shoes not only to look good when they're new, but to age well too.

Natural leather changes with wear. It gradually softens, moulds to your feet and develops a patina of its own.

Creases, subtle shifts in colour and signs of real use aren't things we want to hide.

They're what happens to shoes that are actually worn.

And when we put quality materials and hours of skilled work into a pair, we want that pair to be worth keeping for years.

THE REAL TEST OF QUALITY

Time is the real test of quality

Almost every pair of shoes looks good when it's brand new.

What tells you much more is how it looks after years of actual wear.

One pair of LUKS recently came back to our workshop after four years because the zip needed repairing. The leather, construction and sole were still in remarkably good condition.

One part needed attention. The whole pair didn't need replacing.

And that's exactly how we think about quality.

If the foundations of a shoe are still good, we want it to be worth repairing and wearing again.

REAL HELP FROM OUR TEAM

REAL PEOPLE, REAL HELP

We're here before you order, too

Choosing the right size and width online isn't always straightforward.

And if you already know you have very wide feet, a narrow heel, a higher instep or something else that makes finding shoes difficult, there can be even more to think about.

So talk to us before you order.

We can look at your measurements, help you choose a size or width and tell you whether one of our customisation options might make sense for you.

There's no anonymous call centre between you and us.

You're talking to people who know the shoes and know how they're made.

SMALL BY CHOICE

We don't want to be the biggest. We want to do this well.

LUKS is still a small family business.

And we're happy with that.

We're not trying to make as many identical pairs as possible for as many people as possible.

We want to make quality barefoot shoes for real feet, including the ones that don't fit neatly into standard ideas of what a foot is supposed to look like.

Shoes with room.
Shoes we can adapt.
Shoes worth repairing.

Shoes for real feet. Made by real people.
